Another perfect holiday

I know I can say without a doubt that this past holidays have been one of the best I have ever spend since Ayasha was born, it was just so special that I know I also speak for my husband when I say it was just perfect.

Sam and I save a lot, I still have most of my savings from when I worked at the local high school teaching art and like I said I married an amazing man and we are always thinking of the future so we save for our daughter and her needs as well as our own, there…

Unwelcomed guest

It started to be as a perfect day, having a family feeding enlightens all our days and this time was no exception, and of course we enjoyed it, but just as we finished Lucas came in and approached the masters informing them someone had requested to see them, at the moment the name was not familiar and we all got a bit curious and glanced one another, I stayed in the throne room, because Lady Sulpicia was still there as well, therefore I remained by her side.

When the stranger…

The Aftermath!

Well it's been a little while hasn't it, since I said I would let you know how I faired. Let me start by stating the obvious... I "physically" survived my night at the movies with Seth, though I'm still tempted to check under the bed or behind the door every now and again. Don't even get me started on high I've jumped if a breeze comes through the room and a door starts to swing shut or open in response. I know that all sounds crazy but when you are as frightened of scary movies, as I am.…

My worst nightmares come true

The constant scuurying of creatures on the forest floor was the only thing that was keeping me from falling asleep...or was it the nagging feeling in my gut, like I shouldn't be here, and as much as I wanted it to, it just wouldn't go away. I couldn't quite put my finger on it.  I shook the light mist that had settled on my fur and headed off towards home. No sooner had I dressed, my cell phone began to ring. Frowning I answered it "Hello.?" Hearing Charlie's voice on the other end…

Ready for Australia

So this time next week, I will be in the air somewhere heading towards the beautiful country of Australia.  I am heading there for a period of six weeks and will be traveling with my best friend. I'm both thrilled and nervous at the same time. I have visited other countries before but I have never gone for more then a couple of weeks. It's going to be very different going for six weeks.  I feel that I will become homesick after a while as I will miss my country  (the UK) and my family and…

German Traditions

When I was a child my fondest memory was when I was 7 and it was Christmas time and my family followed the traditions that we always carried out every year. They began just before December 1st and my mother, sisters and I set aside special evenings for baking spiced cakes and cookies, and making gifts and decorations. Little dolls of fruit are traditional Christmas toys.…

Forgotten by History

My human years are long behind me.  In a time even historians do not fully comprehend.  A time lost to the sands.  You see, I have seen many human lifetimes.  Seen the world change.  Any of my human accomplishments would now be long forgotten for I did nothing that any human historian would find worthy enough to make note of.

Yes, I can still remember back to the day that…

19/01/2013 - A Snowy Day At Leeds Castle, England UK

19/01/2013 - A Snowy Day At Leeds Castle, England UK

Living in Otham, Kent means that I can easily visit the famous Leeds Castle, which is only about five minutes drive away from me. Since we had a bit of snow yesterday, me and my mom decided to go to Leeds Castle today to have a walk in the snow. We got a lot more then we bargained for!

Walking through the grounds of Leeds Castle is actually lovely. There is a lot of wildlife within the grounds and immediately upon…

Begin Again

With Edward’s return, Carlisle felt it was time for us to move on. The danger, he explained, was in staying in one place for too long. Since we did not change, there was a limited amount of time we could afford in one locale. Since Edward and I appeared more alike that he and Carlisle, we chose to say that Edward and I were siblings.  Carlisle applied to a few hospitals and when he went to interview with them, I would scope out the houses for sale, looking for something suitable for our…

The Way It Should Have Been

We chose to be married on December 31, 1921. We thought it the best way to end out what, for me, had been a bad year. Edward stood as witness with us at the Justice of the Peace, the JP’s wife as our second. I carried purple orchids and wore a short dress, not quite a flappers dress but in a similar fashion, with lace accents. I wish I could tell you what Carlisle wore, but I was so entranced by the happiness on his face I don’t remember. There were no pictures of him, just one pose of me,…

Camber Sands

12/01/2013

Today I visited Camber Sands.  It’s a wonderful long sandy beach based in the little village of Camber, East Sussex, UK. It’s the only the beach in the county of East Sussex with sand dunes!

Camber Sands holds many special memories for me as this was the beach I used to spend many summers on when I was a child. I haven’t visited it for years so to go back today was really nice, even if it was very cold, wet and…

The truth is hard to believe.

Continued from previous blog.

I didn't take much notice of what was watching me. I turned the page, it was no longer written in my fathers hand but there were now pages full of pictures of a half cat half human creature as I got further in the book there were words like devil and demon written along side a red eyed man. I didn't understand, I slamed the book and sighed loudly and felt an uncontrollable urge to run. I ran though the woods with great speed which was strange for me as I… Continue

Horus

I am Horus, the great Falcon upon the ramparts of the house of him of the hidden name. My flight has reached the horizon. I have passed by the gods of Nut. I have gone further than the gods of old. Even the most ancient bird could not equal my very…

Something Personal

I went to my local doctors today to discuss why my periods are so irregular and why I suffer from hair loss occasionally. I was told that these could be symptoms of Polycystic Ovary Syndrome. It's not been confirmed until I have a scan but the more I think about it, the more I feel I have it. I'm not overly aware of this issue but I have heard about it and I do know that people who suffer from it have a hard time becoming pregnant.

I've never really thought about having children…

Secrets always come out.

I was nothing special just a girl who loved her father and would do anything for him. My father worked hard to give me every opportunity in life maybe because I only knew my mum for a short time but I'd like to think it was because he wanted me to be anything I wanted to be. It was my last year of university in Australia he got very ill. Somehow I knew he was ready to die. He's only wish was to travel to America and meet some native Americans. (He had worked with aboriginals and wanted to see… Continue

A first Snow Fall

I can still remember that first crisp snowfall.  Heading out on patrol for the first time with snow was a new experience. Tracking small creatures as they roamed the forest, searching out food caches.  How the air was crisp and cleaner. Different from the days after the rain stopped. I was  amused with how my large paws kept me more on top of the snow. Like having snowshoes on. Even the feeling of snow underfoot had a different feel.

But the thing I remember most is how the…

The Magical Gate

The musical sound of Katie and Garrett’s laughter drifted down into the studio, as I sat distracted for once, from my latest piece. Tanya’s exasperated, “Go away you two” instantly brought a smile to my face as Katie and Garrett made a hasty retreat from the kitchen giggling away like a couple of naughty children.

"My poor sister", my head shook as my smile…

Doctors Without Borders

In the early 1990s I was fortunate enough to be asked by Doctors Without Borders,  to travel to Kenya where I worked with a team of medical professionals to create and maintain a medical clinic for 18 months. I learned a lot in that time about people. Those I worked with were so free and giving of themselves that it restored my hope for humanity and I believe it strengthened my skills as a physician. Yes, I have practiced…
