Tourist season keeps us busy here in Forks. There are a lot of hiking trails and camping places around here . While for the most part, it is a boost to our local economy, in other ways it just brings in a whole shipload of stupidity.
Tourist season is nicknamed "Idiot Season" around here for a reason.
This area has much to offer the outdoorsy type but it's not your typical outdoors. We have thick forests here that most people are not used to. The foliage is different and so are the…

Here I am back on the blog front. My life has been a whirlwind the past year. I'm still in Forks...well, that is a long story. For awhile I was a part time music instructor at Forks High School, until my grandmother fell ill. My mom and I dropped everything and went to help take care of her. She lives in Oregon, so I basically quit my job. My grandmother is better now, so I'm back, but the recovery took awhile. I'll go into details in a later…Continue
My cousin Shay came over last night and we had so much fun! We did make up and then watched Beauty and the Beast! We went to bed really late so I'm so glad that tomorrow is Sunday and we can both sleep in a little! This morning we got up at 9 and made waffles and scrambled eggs and fresh squeezed orange juice! . Mom had to go to work so Quil came over to help us clean up from breakfast and then we made brownies! Shay LOVES brownies so we made 2 batches! One for her to take home and one for…Continue

Why do I wake up at 5:30AM when I don't have to go to school? My mom says it's called 'Murphy's Law' and that means, basically, whatever can go wrong, will go wrong. Kinda funny but also really annoying since I could have slept till like 10AM ! Here it is 5:30 and I'm wide awake. The birds outside are so loud I guess that's what woke me up, I really don't know. It's the last Friday of Spring break and Quil is coming over for pancakes at 9. I hope I can survive until then because I'm already…Continue

Today's the last day of the marking period at school. The teachers are going to turn in their grades tonight. The new marking period starts tomorrow. I can't believe it's already the fourth marking period then Summer!! I live for Summer! Quil said he's going to take me out to watch them cliff dive later this week. Maybe I can try it one day but for now all I'm allowed to do is watch. That's ok though, it's too cold anyway! Those guys are crazy! So I take pictures for them so they can post…Continue

I thought I wouldn't survive the teething phase. I got through that pretty well. The crying made me feel sad for Aerie rather than angry for my loss of sleep. They can't help how they deal with pain. Jake never cried while he was teething and if Rachel and Rebecca did, I certainly don't remember it. Perhaps in time the teething memories will fade with this one too, who knows. Anyway.
If there's one thing that IS consistent with all 4 of my kids, it's the Terrible 2s. I probably have the…

Pretty accurate for me, if I do say so myself!
DEFENDER PERSONALITY (ISFJ, -A/-T)
Read more and take the test here- 16personalities.com
"Love only grows by sharing. You can only have more for yourself by giving it away to others."
The Defender personality type is quite unique, as many of their qualities defy the definition of their individual traits. Though sensitive, Defenders have…

I contemplate the deepest parts of winter. Temperatures don't matter to us. We neither feel hot nor cold so it's always perfect for us. We do keep the castle at a balmy 17 degrees (celsius), to keep our guests at their happiest.
Caius has a lot of business contacts and entertaining them is something that pleasures him greatly. We have had a few lately that he is so happy with due to his vineyard business being successful. Our grounds are vast and of course we don't tend our own grapes.…

You may not believe it but I do get the occasional day off. Sue and I jumped in the jeep and hit the trail. We drove up the coastline, stopped along the way so Sue could snap some shots. The beach looks amazing even in the rain so it didn't matter that we were driving in and out of rain all day.
We headed north on the 101 and jumped on 112 and took the coastal route. It was a nice, easy drive.…

So yesterday I went to Alice's Birthday party. It was awesome! I'm not sure who decorated but yeah, they can come do my birthday party! I loved the flowers and balloons! The balloons were huge and round and had dim flashing lights in them to make them sort of glow. It was so cool! They had cupcakes, brownies, cookies and for lunch there was chili, Texas toast and chips and salsa. Texas toast is this huge chunk of bread that was totally covered in garlic butter. I'm going to ask my mom if we…Continue

Have you ever been so overwhelmed by something good or bad that your entire world stops cold. Every second, molecule, atom just freezes as you catch up with the reality that this moment is really happening.
That is how I felt when I first saw Jasper. I knew what to expect..I had seen it in my visions over a million times. I knew what he would look and act like. I knew how the night would unfold. There should have been no surprises and yet, actually…Continue

We're having supper with Billy and Tiffany tonight. I'm so excited because that means I get to play with Aerie! I know she's like 2 years old but she's so cute and funny! I love going there too because they have a sweet kitty named Snickers and my mom is not into cats, like at all. She says cats and dont mix. I think they would be fine. I want a cat!!
We're having some kind of chicken and rice and vegetables. Mom and I are bringing brownies that we made! They're still warm and gooey!…Continue

Carlisle contacted us today and it brought to mind a few old anecdotes. I figure I'll share one for the sake of entertainment.
There's a large tapestry that stretches for a good portion of the main hall between the Throne room and the main foyer.
The wall behind that tapestry is bare and made of stone/brick just as the rest of the castle is except for a few places within our chambers where we have fortified walls which are covered again with plaster and white…

It's unseasonably warm for February which has brought a significant increase of tourism to our small community of Volterra. Most are yearning for a break from their monotonous lives and a peek into an ancient culture with a vast, beautiful landscape, unlike their doldrum views from their kitchen sinks at home.
I take advantage of such breaks in the weather and have spent many a day out in the courtyard listening to Alec and Jane and Demetri and Corin as they chit-chat and laugh about…

Been here in La Push my whole life but seems as I get older, Im getting less and less tolerant of being cold. Used to be we went swimming in 30 degree temperatures. 80 degrees still isnt warm enough to get this old man into the drink. I was just out back grabbing some wood and heard a bunch of kids talking as they were walking by. They are heading to the cliffs to go diving. It's cold, they aren't part of the pack either. They're just crazy!
It's a nice quiet day here, just me and…Continue

Last night we went to the diner then to see Lego Batman. I thought it was so funny! My favorite character is Robin. He's just silly and a little bit awkward and that makes him funny! I love playing with Legos. Quit has this huge Star Wars thing he built and I remember once I touched it and it like exploded. He got so mad I thought he was going to kill me but he didn't! Still now there are two pieces still missing. Tell me how the heck if you break something do the pieces go missing and you…Continue

Ok guys, this is so fun and gross and cool!
We're making SLIME with glitter!
Here's what you need...
You can either use the pre-glittered glue , or you can use regular Elmer's school glue and add your own glitter. I've found that if you use the really fine grain glitter it's the best! I've also used chunky glitter and confetti shapes too.…Continue
A few flurries fly and the whole of Forks seems on edge. There were seven accidents today which brought people into the ER. All of that from a few snow flurries. That's not even mentioning how many incidents there were that did not involve injury.
It snows, people panic. Why is that? I have never understood why and I suppose I just never will.
I treated a few bruises, scrapes and a concussion. Someone slid into a cyclist. Lucky for him, the automobile was not moving very fast…
