Master Marcus
I was once a romantic. The love of my wife, Didyme, was my everything. When I lost her, I lost myself. I now exist, a former shell of myself. My days are spent reminiscing and writing about days gone by as to not forget. Over time we do forget and I refuse to let the memory of Didyme slip away like the fog when the sun rises.
I reside in Volterra in the Volturi Castle with Aro, Caius, Sulpicia, Athenodora and the the guards. Each guard has a power, a gift if you will, that endears them to us. In all actuality, it's the only thing that makes them useful. Our purpose is to keep the rules sacred and assure that they are not broken.
We do just that. if you abide by the ancient rules that we exist on you have nothing to fear. If you do not, rest assured, we do not grant second chances.

Activity in the Castle, once again...
Aro said it was nice to have activity, once again, here in the castle but I must say, I disagree. The noise is unbearable.
I heard it stated that I was like, "The old man who stands and yells, "Get off my lawn!"

A game of hide and seek....
Carlisle contacted us today and it brought to mind a few old anecdotes. I figure I'll share one for the sake of entertainment.
There's a large tapestry that stretches for a good portion of the main hall between the Throne room and the main foyer.
The wall behind that tapestry is bare and made of stone/brick just as the rest of the castle is except for a few places within our chambers where we have fortified walls which are covered again with plaster and white…

Time
Time, for us, isn't relevant. As you course through your daily activities, we observe from our timeless state. It's almost as if our residence is stuck in time as we watch the seasons and the people of Volterra pass away. We sit idle in the midst of all of your living and chaos. At first, this 'life' was everything I had ever wanted and more. It was more than I could have possibly imagined and as one could guess, it was filled with adventure, daring feats and incredible romance.
