The Day I Returned to School

 Memories can be a strange thing. Sometime the things you remember can seem like they happened just yesterday, and other times they seem like something that happend months or years ago. Longer than when the event actually happened. There's one memory that always seems to feel like yesterday for me. It was the day I had things under control enough to return to school. Sam was very insistant that finishing school was important and that we'd find a way to make it happen. So when we though it was safe enough and that I had things under control I returned.

  I wasn't expecting much from that day. Another long day of lessons, and subjects that I might not ever use again. But what happened that day was so very much more. And that's when I turned and noiced Kim. Suddnly she was the only thing I could focus on. It was like the rest of the world just faded away and there was nothing but her. I don't know how I never really noticed her before. But now. I wanted to sit and share lunch with her. I wanted to walk her home. I wanted to know she was safe. It was like I would do anything for her. To see her smile, that made my world better, brighter. It was as though my entire world revolved around her and she was my sun.

  It didn't take too long for Sam to figure out I'd imprinted on Kim. An event that was a little surprising. It was something we'd thought was rare. yet here we were and two of us had imprinted. Not that I'm complaing. Kim is the light of my life.
