Baby Sammy is finally here!

After months and months of waiting the time had finally arrived, Emily had been pacing and cleaning all day. I kept trying to get her to rest and relax as her back and her body was hurting. But she couldn't help it, it was driving her kinda crazy, she just needed to move around and be doing something. It wasn't until she started getting the first few contractions that we realized that it was finally time. To say I was excited would be an understatement, but the labor and delivery was kind of…

Baby Update

About a week ago I went with Emily up to the hospital for her check up and another ultrasound. We have still been quite worried and concerned for the baby since the accident. I'm afraid that if we get our hopes up, something will happen and the baby will be gone. It's been scary for both us, but much more so for Emily. She tries so hard not to let it bother her, but I can tell it does.  Anyway, as we looked at the baby in the ulatrasound, saw the heartbeat, and saw for ouselves that the baby…

Forgive and forget

When asked about what family means to me, I automatically think about my Mom. She basically raise me herself, she worked alot to keep the bills payed and food on the table. She would come home after working a long day, she'd let me help make supper, we'd sit at the table and do crafts and bake things together. She did everything thing she could to give me the best childhood she could. My father left us when I was about 3 I think, I don't really remember much about…

My worst nightmares come true

The constant scuurying of creatures on the forest floor was the only thing that was keeping me from falling asleep...or was it the nagging feeling in my gut, like I shouldn't be here, and as much as I wanted it to, it just wouldn't go away. I couldn't quite put my finger on it.  I shook the light mist that had settled on my fur and headed off towards home. No sooner had I dressed, my cell phone began to ring. Frowning I answered it "Hello.?" Hearing Charlie's voice on the other end…

Helping those in need

This year for Thanksgiving, Emily, Ayasha and I decided to start a new tradition. Instead of just having our own Thanksgiving we decided that it would fun to do some baking and put together a Thanksgiving meal for a less fortunate family. Ayasha and I helped Emily bake all kinds of cookies and other baked goods, along with the feast. When Thanksgiving day came, we loaded everything up and took it over to their house. To see the shock on their faces, and the excitement was the greatest…

Shay's First Halloween

Shay was just little, about 10 months old. Emily had made Shay a little Red riding hood costume. She fixed her hair  into little pig tails on each side of her head, a little red and white dress with a red cape and hood. Holding tightly to her stuffed wolf as we walked from house to house, she giggled and smiled from ear to ear with excitement. Though I doubt she actually had any understanding of what was going on but, she sure looked adorable

The story of Night and Day

When I was young I remember crawling into bed listening closely as my Mother told me many different stories and legends of our tribe and other tribes as well. Now that I am older, there is one story that seems to stand out in my mind. It's a short story of how night and day came to be.

One day a rabbit was traveling through the forest and came to a clearing on the bank of a river. He saw an owl perched on a twig, but it was almost dark and the rabbit could not see very well. He said…

The accident

I didn't have a chance to walk away after she shoved my shoulder and yelled at me, accusing me of running from responsibilites like my father. The second the words rolled off her tongue I lost control, and the next thing I knew she was on the ground with blood covering her face and arm, her body seemingly lifeless.  It was like a scene from a horror movie playing out right in front of me. With one quick swipe of my paw I caused harm to the one I loved. Panic set in and I took off deep into…
