Chapter Three

Days three

Charlie's house

Well the next morning, Dale awoke in the same place this time and not on the bed.  Dale got dressed and then went down to the kitchen after he stopping at the bathroom for couple of minutes, once he got  to the kitchen, Esme and Carlisle, Alice and Jasper along with Emmet and Rosalie were all talking amongst themselves, when Dale walked in.  He went and sat down on a barstool, he could not figure out how come he was always the last to wake up.  He looked at Alice and asked “What time did you get up this morning?” The rest of the family just chuckled; Alice replied “I don't sleep.”  Dale did a double take because he couldn’t believe what he heard, Dale replied “You don't sleep, don't you get tired?” Alice looked at him and smiled and said “No.”  Esme gave Dale a plate of scramble eggs and sausages and this time with little hash browns, Dale took his fork and started to eat. While Dale was eating Carlisle was on the telephone and hung up, then looked at Dale and said “Dale that was Charlie he has today off from work and wanted to see you so he'll be coming by shortly to pick you up.” Dale didn’t know what to think about this, all this time Jacob was his favorite, and he's coming over here to pick me up, to be with me.  Dale replied “ok.” 

Soon Dale was finished with his breakfast; suddenly there was a knock at the door.  Alice went and answered the door, and Charlie walked into the kitchen.  Charlie looked at Dale rather concerned and Dale noticed. Then Charlie turned to Carlisle and said “Carlisle, he will be back later this afternoon I just need his help with a few things.”  Carlisle replied “That will be fine; we also need to do some things as well.”  Dale replied “Well I'll just go upstairs and get my jacket.”  And with that Dale took off up the stairs to his room and he quickly came back down with a coat on.  Dale looks at Carlisle and said “See you later.”  Then he went out the door, Charlie said to Carlisle “Tell Bella I said hi.”  Carlisle replied “I will do that.”  And then Charlie went to the car, Dale was already standing beside the car Charlie looked at Dale and asked “Did you get the package?” Dale replied “yeah.” With that Charlie got in the car and unlocked the passenger side, so Dale could get in and once they were inside the car.  Charlie asked another question and said “Are you still doing your martial arts training?” Dale replied “Sort of, little bit, why?”  Charlie said “I want you to start training again, for your safety.”  Then Charlie started the car and they drove off, Charlie drove to his house and when they arrived they both went into the House, they both went into the living room and sat down.  Charlie wanted to discuss what they would be doing today, that they would be moving Bella’s things out of the room and into a storage unit.  Charlie said “What we’ll be doing for today is loading up a truck to move Bella’s things to a storage unit, but first I will have to go and get the truck to load things into, so you can sit here and watch television for while  and I should be back in a few minutes.”  Suddenly Charlie's deputy tooted the horn, and then Charlie said “All right I’ll back, you stay put.”  With that Charlie left and Dale could hear the car drive off in the distance.  Dale grabbed the remote and turned the television on and started watching TV, about 5 or 10 minutes go by and suddenly there was a knock at the door.  The knock was coming from the back door; Dale went and answered the back door.  Dale opened the door and saw that it was Jacob Black, and as quick as the open the door he said “We don't want any.”  And then shut the door as quick as he opened it; Jacob replied “I have to speak with you.” Dale sort of chuckled and replied “I don't want to hear anything you've got to say, stray dog.”  Jacob insisted saying “Billy sent me here to talk to you; I'm here to tell you you're in danger.”  Dale was sort of conflict he really was not interested in what Jacob had to say however he was curious why Jacob was worried about his welfare.  Jacobs said “Just hear me out, and then I'll leave.”  Dale went to the door and slowly opened it saying “You've got five minutes.”  Jacobs said “You have to leave the Cullen’s, go back to Seattle where it's safe.”  Dale replied “Is that it?” Jacob replied “You’re not going to listen to me are you?” Dale replied “Why should I?” Jacob knew that this was not getting anywhere and replied “Ok, I'm here because of Billy my father he told me to come here and warn you about the Cullen’s, in my tribe they're called cold ones and they're very dangerous.”  Dale sort of smirked and then said “So you come over here to tell me that the people that I am staying with, that Bella is married to and is part of my family is dangerous to me?” “And you really care I'm touched, really.”  Jacob replied “Listen I know we're not very good friends.”  Then Dale interrupted him saying “We're not friends at all and you keep forgetting I don't ask for your friendship, or your opinion of who I live with, goodbye.” With that Dale was so angry at Jacob coming over here and telling him that he'd have leave the people that took him in and  clothed him and fed him, that he would have to go back to Seattle, to leave the people that made him feel something that he had not felt in along time , happy.  Just because Jacobs says so, just because Billy says some mumbo jumbo about the Cullen’s being some sort of cold ones, he was so angry that he left the house and was out back pacing trying to cool off then he thought ho, screws this and began walking back to the Cullen’s House.  He made it into town and as he stopped to try to figure out which road went to the Cullen’s House suddenly a yellow porche went by and suddenly turned around which Dale had not noticed he was still too angry at Jacob.  The yellow car drove up beside Dale, and the window went down in the car and it was Alice she said “Dale, Get in.”  Dale stopped walking and looked at her, he was still plenty angry but he got in the car anyway and shut the door.  As Alice drove, Alice asked “Dale what is wrong, why are you so upset?” Dale would not talk he just kept breathing still trying to calm down, Alice thought about it for a minute and tried another approach instead of going home she took Dale to place to eat, when they arrived Dale asked “what are we doing here?” Alice replied “I'm hungry.” 

So the both go into the place and sat down when the waitress came up Alice asked “Dale, what would you like to eat?” Before Dale could answer Alice replied “He wants a cheeseburger with bacon mustard and ketchup on it and thing of fries.”  This totally blew dale’s mind because that’s exactly how he likes his hamburger, waitress turned to Alice and asked “And for you?” Alice Suddenly replied “Ho, I am suddenly not hungry just a glass of water.” and then the waitress left.  Dale's anger had completely vanished instantly now all that remained was puzzlement at how Alice knew what he like on his hamburger. Soon the waitress brought Dale his food, Dale reached over and grabbed the salt shaker and began salting his French Fries, as he was salting his fries Alice asked “Could you please tell me why you were so upset?” Dale replied “Oh, I was at Charlie's house and Charlie went to go get a truck, and Jacob showed up said he came to warn me about you guys, I don't know, I guess I still have of grudge against him, He said I was in danger some weird stuff like that, I don't know what he's thinking because I've lived in Seattle all these years and been in danger plenty of times.”  Then Dale began to eat his hamburger, Alice replied “I don't know why he warned you about us, he's been over at our place lots of times.”  After Dale swallowed some food he said “The guy gets under my skin he is not happy unless I'm completely miserable.”  After Dale was finished eating he only ate half of this food, then they began to leave.  As Dale was leaving something told him there was trouble about happen, he noticed a couple of guys were following them.  Both he and Alice walked to the car; the two guys went out the door a few seconds later.  Alice walk to the driver side door as Dale stopped in his tracks and sort of glanced behind him at the two guys walked past him, they had parked right next Alice’s car.  And started talking nastily to Alice.  Dale told the two guys “leave her alone.”  With that the two guys immediately turn around and start going after Dale aggressively, they both said “What you goanna do about it?” Dale looks at Alice and then at the two guys then told the two guys “If you were smart you would just get in your vehicle and just drive away.”  One of the guys said “And if we don't?” Dale looks right at the guy and said “Boy did you to pick the wrong person in the wrong place on the wrong day at the wrong time.” 

With that both the guy's got closer to him and one was about to punch Dale in the face, the very second the one guy took a swing Dale immediately spun around and kicked him right in the side of the head which caused him to Bang is head on his car and the other one pulled a knife on Dale, Dale immediately did jump front kick right to the guys chin sending him over the car.  Dale immediately ran for Alice’s car climbed in the passenger seat as Alice got into the driver's seat, she started it up back up and took off fast.  As Alice was driving she still could not believe what she just saw, what Dale had done to those two guys she said to him “I can't believe what you did?” Dale just kept looking back to see if they were chasing them, then replied “God, that felt good! I hadn’t done that in six years.”  He looked at is hands and they were shaking possibly from the adrenaline rush that was going through him, again Alice said “How did you do that, I did not see that the future.”  Suddenly Dale look puzzled at Alice, and then Dale said “I don't think they did either?” Alice looked at him and started laughing, soon they drove back to the Cullen’s House when they pulled up Carlisle was out front, Carlisle said “Charlie's been calling here off and on all day, where did you go?” Dale look at Carlisle and said “I was at Charlie's house until stray dog showed up then I had to leave to prevent a fight, tell Charlie all make it up to him.” with that he walked past Carlisle in into the house.  Alice looked at Carlisle and said “You won't believe what he did.” Carlisle said “What you mean?” Alice replied “What I saw him do today to two guys who started aggravating me.”  Carlisle asked “What did he do?” Alice replied “He made short work of them, and there was two of them and him being a human.”  With that she went inside, Carlisle still did not know what Alice talking about and went inside as well.  Dale was up in his room sitting on the bed when Carlisle knocked on the door outside Dale replied “Come in.”  Dale's was sort of sulking about what he had done today Carlisle walked over and sat next to him and asked “What's wrong?” Dale replied “I did something to day that felt great to get out, and now I'm having second thoughts about it, and I broke a promise today that I made to my mother at the funeral.”  Carlisle replied “What was the promise?” Dale said “I swore that I would never hit anybody again, I was just so angry and every time I think about it reminds me what my instructor told me that anger clouds the mind and turn inward it is an unconquerable enemy that has to be controlled.”  Dale turned and looked at Carlisle and said “I don't like to fight, I hate it!” Carlisle replied “I completely understand, but there are times when you must fight to protect the ones you love from being hurt.  But what you did today I cannot condemn you for your protected Alice and the only ones that got hurt were the two people that were trying to inflict harm on you and Alice I don't think  your mother would mind bending that promise because right now I'm very proud of what you did.”  You know something you are wise among your years to show that kind of restraint and control.  Dale looks at Carlisle and smiled, Carlisle looked at Dale Then messed up his hair and said “Come on.”  And then Carlisle stood up and started to leave and Dale followed as he started to leave Carlisle noticed the first-place trophy on dale's dresser then he looked at Dale and said “You really won that?” Dale smiled and lightly chuckled and said “Yeah, I did.”  Carlisle replied “Weren't you scared?” Dale replied “Yeah I was.”  And they both went back downstairs to the living room, well as they were down there all sitting around watching television Dale notice that it was 9:00 o clock time to call Charlie again, Emmett noticed what he was doing and instantly muted the sound on the television so they all could hear Dale calling Charlie.  The whole family was looking at Dale Suddenly Dale flipped open the phone and instantly dialed Charlie's Office phone number, it ring for couple of times and Charlie answered the phone he said “Hello?” Dale was kind of distracted with his audience all watching his every move including Carlisle, Dale said “Yes, Hello I am looking for somebody there his last name is daily his first initials are I. P.”  Immediately Emmett started laughing and Dale put his hand over the phone receiver and said “Shhhhhh.”  In the meantime Dale put the cell phone on Speaker and At Charlie's office Charlie asked his deputy “Do we have an I.P daily here?” When Emmett heard what Charlie had said he immediately started laughing and Jasper thought about a minute and then he started laughing at it as well, Esme didn’t think it was so funny she said “Dale that is disgusting!” But soon the laughter overwhelm all of them, well Charlie on the other line kept saying it he said “Do we have an I. P. Daily here?” And then boy did he feel dumb especially when Dale responded with “Do you Pee Daily? Funny I pee daily here too.” And then he hung up, and could not hold it no more the whole family was laughing including Rosalie.  Well back at the station and Charlie was a little bit angry but he was laughing because his deputy was laughing his head off he said to his deputy “Dam that was a good one I think all play  that one on Billy he’ll never see it coming.”  As soon as the laughter stopped they heard the door open and close, it was Bella Edward and Renesmee.  Just as everyone was getting over laughing at what Dale had done.  Carlisle notices that Edward and Bella was in the room and saw Renesmee and Carlisle said “Oh, there's someone Renesmee has to meet.”  With that Carlisle walked to Bella and picked up Renesmee and took her over to Dale and said “Dale, this is Renesmee, Bella and Edwards' daughter.”  Dale look at Renesmee she looked straight at him then Carlisle let her go on the floor she walked over to the couch climbed on to the couch and sat next to Dale, Carlisle was smiling as Bella was watching.  Dale did not  have much experience with children but boy did he have her attention then suddenly he looked down at her and she was smiling and then out of nowhere She hugged him, he looked at Bella and said “I take it she likes me.“ Which made Bella chuckle Dale look down at Renesmee and asked “Want to play with a big kid?” Renesmee just smiled and laughed most of the night Renesmee would not leave dale's side they both just sat there and watch television, and the hard parts that Renesmee did not understand Dale was explaining it to her.  Bella looked it Carlisle and said “Isn't that amazing Dale never had a little sister or brother any family whatsoever and yet look at them.” Bella chuckled again then she said “She is listening to everything Dale says.”  Carlisle said Bella, “Dale's a good kid, and did you know Bella that today Dale saved Alice?” Edward interrupted saying “She really wasn’t in any danger, Carlisle.” Carlisle said “Well Edward Dale did not know that.”  Edward replied “When are you going to tell him the truth about us?” Carlisle replied “I am not going to tell him anything he's a smart boy he can figure it out for himself.”

  Soon it got late, Bella and Edward picked up Renesmee’s  who was fast asleep and took her home with them, and Dale was also asleep with her and woke him up then he went upstairs and went to bed.
