Chapter Nine

Week two, day two

The Big Day

The next day Dale woke up, grabbed a t-shirt that said I have issues and a pair of blue jeans and went down stairs for breakfast, down stairs in the kitchen it was quiet as can be. Everyone was in the Kitchen but no one spoke to each other. Dale sat at the same place he always did and was given breakfast, then finally Rosalie stood up and looked at Dale and said “Human I hope you realize that you doomed us all by being here and if any of us gets hurt it will be on your head!” With that she stormed out of the room and disappeared Dale just sat there suddenly he wasn’t hungry anymore, he knew that he was to blame and the more he thought about what Rosalie said the more he felt like disappearing himself. With that he put his fork down and left the kitchen, Alice looked at Jasper and said “I’ll be back” and with that Alice went to look for Dale. When she found him he was sitting outside on the second story balcony with his feet through the rail and his arms draped on the lower part he was swing his feet back and forth just staring off into space at the forest. Alice walked over and sat down beside him and said “Dale its ok.” Dale thought about it and said “Its not ok!; Rosalie is right if any of you get hurt its all my fault, why did this have to happen why did my mom and dad had to die on me and leave me alone, Because if they hadn’t died you guys would be safe.” Alice replied “If that happened you would not be here and I never would have had a little brother who is a greater person who thinks not of himself but of his new family that love him.” Dale then said “Right, and now they all might die soon because of me!” Alice looked at Dale and said “You listen to me we are not going to die on you, if we die we will still all be together.” Then suddenly Alice went blank for a few minutes, then Dale stood up he was sick of feeling sorry about this , sick of crying at this stage Dale was no longer sad but angry he looked at Alice and said “That did it I have made up my mind!” With that he walked away and up to his room, after he left Alice came back and said “Ho no, Edward!” Then she went straight into the kitchen and told Carlisle about the vision she had that Edward was going to die when they met the Volturi today. At the same time Dale was up in his room looking in the box of his things and found his head ban that was in Japanese and also in the hand pads two pairs of Nunchaku’s that were metal that he would use in testing at school for show and put a pair in his back pocket and then covered them up with his shirt so no one could see them, then he got his shoes on and went back down stairs.  Well in the kitchen Carlisle had the whole family there talking, Dale walked up behind Bella and Edward and listened Carlisle say “Alice has had another vision and it is possible that Edward might be in jeopardy so I want to make this clear when we meet the Volturi I want no one to take any actions that will jeopardizes your lives I am hoping we can talk this out and avoid conflict.” Dale replied “I am all for that.” Carlisle continued “Bella did you get in touch with Jacob?” Bella replied “Yes, he and Seth are willing to help if we need them they will be hiding in the woods and waiting.” Carlisle replied “Excellent.” Then Carlisle looked at Dale and said “Dale I want you to take no action no matter what happens out there, I don’t want to give them an excuse to kill you.” Dale replied “yes, sir!” Carlisle said “Jasper you and Emmett will protect Dale, and Dale will stand behind all of us for protection the wolf pack Jacob and Seth will be our back up if we need it. Now it’s almost time to go.” Carlisle looked at Dale and he was almost as pale as the rest of the family, he could see that Dale was scared then he said “Dale go and get your coat on we are going to the baseball field to meet the Volturi.” With that Dale ran and grabbed his coat and then went to the front door where every one was, Dale went by car with Bella and Edward, Renesmee was at Charlie’s for safe keeping the rest of the Cullen’s ran to the baseball field. As the three of them went into the field with the rest of the Cullen’s, Dale was still nervous about all this and as he walked Edward stopped in front of him and said quietly “Don’t pull those out unless you have to.” Dale forgot Edward can read minds he must have meant the Nunchaku’s he had in his back pocket. Dale looked at Edward and nodded. The Cullen’s grouped together and waited for the Volturi to get there, Bella told Carlisle that Jacob was in the woods over there if they needed them. Carlisle replied “Very well I hope they won’t be necessary.” After awhile Dale got tired of just standing there so he sat down in the field and started picking the grass and tossing it on the ground as you would do if your board, Bella looked down at Dale sitting there picking grass so she sat down and started picking it too. Suddenly she tossed some grass on Dale he looked at Bella like ho you want to play huh then he tossed some grass at her and it started a sort of a grass war. Bella grabbed a hand full of pick grass and was about to throw it at Dale when Edward said “Bella, what are you two doing?” Suddenly Bella threw it at Edward instead. So there Edward stood with grass in his hair all Dale had to do was looked at Edward and he immediately started laughing pointing at him with grass all over him. Carlisle turns around and asks “What is going on?” Dale who now has a case of the giggles is fighting the tide of laughter while Bella looks at Carlisle and starts to try to stop laughing as well. Rosalie says “Will you two grow up!” At that moment Emmett turned around to see what was so funny, When Bella looked at Edward and started laughing again and looked at Dale then said “He looks like a deranged leprechaun don’t he?” and Dale added saying in an Irish accent  “Eye there always after his lucky charms!” After that they were both laughing hard than before at what Dale had said including Emmett while Jasper , Rosalie, Esme just smiled, Carlisle and Edward all just watched as the three just kept laughing when Alice came up to the group and said “They are coming!” That’s when Bella jumped onto her feet and stopped laughing; Dale got on his feet as well but still had a little trouble keeping a straight face. Dale walked behind Emmett and Jasper for protection as the four Volturi came closer to the group, Soon there were two groups the Cullen’s on the left and the Volturi on the right. The four Volturi were Jane, Felix, Demetri and Aro, then Aro walked up to Carlisle and said “My dear friend Carlisle it as been a while since the last time we met, ho and there is your lovely wife Esme. Carlisle replied “Yes it has, which brings me to ask why you came all this way out here for?” Aro suddenly saw Dale and replied to Carlisle by saying “Why to see if it were true that you were allowing another human to know of us and it appears to be right over there. At that moment Dale was peeking around Emmett, Carlisle replied “Yes, it is true but ----” Aro suddenly interrupted him and said “You were already given one chance with Bella and now you make the same offence, you know the law any human who finds out about our kind is either turned or killed there are no exceptions.” Then Dale replied “Boy and I thought life insurance sales men were pushy!” Emmett and Jasper just smiled at what Dale had said, Aro turned to Felix and said “Felix kill the whelp.” Suddenly Felix started to move toward Dale; Dale looked at Jasper and asked “Can someone tell me who or what this is? Emmett replied “His name is Felix and he kills for the Volturi.” Dale replied “To me he looks like Kevin Yeager on steroids.” Emmett chuckled, then before Dale knew it Felix moved at lighting speed and hit Emmett knocking him to the ground and then Demetri attacked Jasper so fast Dale did not know what happened. Dale started backing up from Felix while Demetri was taking on both Emmett and Jasper ,Suddenly out of know where Edward attacked Felix and then there was a vampire battle, Dale could not make it out too clearly what was going on  they were moving too fast. Then suddenly Edward made a mistake and Felix had him in a head lock and was about to rip Edwards head off and he said to Edward “Now there is no one goanna save you now!” Bella was screaming when suddenly Felix heard something to the right of him and as he turned his head to see what it was it was a size twelve shoe coming right at his face and nailed him right in the face knocking Felix back and off Edward. It was Dale and he was mad, Dale said “You leave my Brother alone!” And with that Dale got into a ninja fighting stance, Felix just chuckled and replied “That did it little human time for you to die!” Felix knowing he had the upper hand and did not move in on Dale fast thinking he wasn’t a threat then Dale spun around and kicked with a round kick but Felix being faster than him caught his foot. Dale was now hopping on one foot as Felix said “Now you are a dead, kid!” Dale looked at him and replied “Do you really think so?” And with that Dale jumped and using the other foot he was standing on and kicked Felix right in the chin, sending him back a couple of feet as Dale back flipped and landed on his feet. At this Felix was surprised as well as angry and he moved very fast at Dale knocking him to the ground so hard he was back rolling and Dale stopped flat on his back as Edward started to get to his feet when Dale was flat on his Back he rested for a few seconds catching his breath then ground flipped onto his feet. While all this is happening Carlisle kept asking Aro will you please stop this, in the mean time Felix started walking toward Dale when Dale said “Ok, time to punch this up a notch!” With that Dale pulled out the nunchaku’s and started moving them around his body, moving them under and over his arms and crossing them from left to right and they were twirling very fast which caught Felix by surprise so he stopped a second and Dale spun them and then chambered it in his arm pit ready to hit Felix with them when Aro said “Wait!” Felix stopped his attacked and Demetri did the same with Emmett and Jasper. Aro looked at Dale who was breathing fast and then he looked at Felix who just walked slowly right by Dale like nothing happened at all, Edward walked up to Dale and stood next to him. Both Felix and Demetri moved next to Aro, Who once again looked at Dale and said “You surprise me young one for a human you are impressive it is a pity that they will not make you one of us.” Then Alice walked up to Aro and said “He will be one of us soon.” Then Carlisle waked next to her and said “The date has been set.” Then Aro looked very happy which made Dale nervous, Aro  then said “Fantastic, we will give you one more chance but this is the last and Dale is it, once you are one of us I would love for you to visit me if you would.” Dale looked at him like a person you wouldn’t trust and then he looked at Edward and then back at Aro and replied “I would take that as a great honor.” Which shocked Bella and with that the Volturi was starting to leave when Dale stepped forward and said “Hey, Felix!” Felix turned to look at Dale and Dale stood up straight with his feet together and with one hand he made a fist and with his right he covered the fist and bowed like he did in martial arts after a fight. Then as soon as the Volturi were gone Dale dropped to the ground, his hands were shaking and he was sucking wind.  Edward did not know what was wrong he just stood there as Esme, Carlisle and Bella ran to Dale, once she got there Bella grabbed his hand as it was shaking saying “Calm down!, calm down!” His hands were shaking like a jackhammer and Dale was acting like he ran twenty miles his breathing was very fast it was like he was trying to catch his breath then Bella said “Just takes deep breaths!” And then his hands started slowing down Carlisle looked at Dale and saw that he was better now Carlisle looked at Bella and asked “How did you know what to do?” Bella replied “This has happened before when he fights from what he mom told me is that his body is putting out too much adrenaline because he gets scared and then he gets angry and its like he is getting too much adrenaline---” Carlisle interrupted and said “That would explain his hand shaking and the rapid breathing, he doesn‘t take full breaths when he fights does he?” Then Bella said “And then when he stops fighting its like his body still wants to go in high gear so I’m guessing when he is turned this will stop.” Carlisle replied “Probably let’s go home.” Bella looked at Dale and asked “Dale, you would really go visit the Volturi?” Dale gave her a look like you gotta be kidding me. And said “Heck no I was just being polite.”

Well back at the house Dale was moving a little slower than normal but nobody cared they were happy that they didn’t lose anybody Emmett and Jasper were talking about the fight while Dale laid on the couch then Bella walked in with a soda and said “Here Dale drink this you’ll feel better.” So Dale sat up and started sipping the soda, then Edward walked in and said to Dale “Thank you for helping me.” Dale looked at him and said “That’s what brothers do help each other.” Emmett looked at Dale and Edward and said “Ho quit with the mushy stuff.” Then Dale looked at Emmett funny then looked at Jasper and then Edward and then said “We are like the musketeers all for one!” And Dale put his hand out and Edward smiled and said “one for all!” And then Edward placed his hand on top of Dale’s next Emmett and Jasper did the same. Then Dale said to all of them “Man who works as part of a team can accomplish anything. Like four strands of rope. Emmett asked “What does that mean?” Dale replied “It’s like a rope if you break piece of a rope one by one strands at a time it is easier to break but if four strands of rope together is super hard to break.” Carlisle waked in and said “Dale you are right and I have some good news Charlie has given me permission to adopt you tomorrow Esme and I are going to sign the papers that makes you officially named Dale Cullen.” With that Alice came in with all the talking she went to Dale and hugged him and said “I love you my little brother.” Dale was the happiest person in the world right then he would never be alone there was no way his new mom and dad could die on him he felt like his heart  could fly. Then suddenly Rosalie said “And what about the day when he is made into a monster like us!” Carlisle looked at Dale and then at Rosalie and said “well I think that Dale should decide, Dale we want you to take your time on this decision.” Dale didn’t know what to do; he didn’t know when he wanted to be a vampire. Then Bella said to Dale “Dale you don’t have to be afraid of this you are not going to be a bad vampire like in the movies, I know you, you’re a good person and we will help you anytime you need us but consider this the longer you wait the older you get, and Esme loves you and does not want you to die, that would hurt her just like what you went through and you don’t want to put her through that do you?” Rosalie looked at everyone and she was getting madder about this then she got to the boiling point and said “Fine let him throw his life away too I don’t care!” And with that Rosalie went up stairs again. Bella looked at Dale again and said “Pulse it looks like you being a vampire is really making her mad.” Then Dale had this big grin on his face and said “Birthday!” This took Carlisle in a shock and he said “What did you say, Dale?” Dale replied “On the Day of my birth I came to this world and it should be the day that I leave that old world behind and be born into a new world.” With that Esme was so happy that she came over and kissed Dale on the cheek, Carlisle said “Ok it’s settled on your birthday we will turn you, but you can change your mind any time. Dale looked at Bella and said “I will get to eat two last turkeys before swearing of food forever.” Bella looked at Dale and said “I’m a vegetarian when I was human, do you have to kill those poor birds?” Dale replied “Well I am not going to try to eat them alive, there harder to eat that way.” Then Bella Asked “And who’s going to cook the turkeys huh?” Dale replied “I’ll cook them myself.” Then Bella replied “Oh no, you are not going to blow up the house to cook the turkey. I will cook the turkey or Esme or Carlisle will but you don’t cook anything.” Dale smiled and said “ok.” Then Jasper walked up to Dale and with a southern Accent said “Happy to have you for a brother if you were in the days of my time in the confederate side we could have really used you back then.” Dale was shocked he never heard Jasper talk like that; he replied “WOW, you mean you were around in the civil war days?” Jasper said yes, I fought for the south.  Dale smiled and replied “well if I were born back in the day I would be on the north side because I was born in Illinois, so we probably are fighting each other.” Jasper just smiled then Dale sat up and ate dinner and watched TV until time for bed.
