My Heart Keeps No Secrets

Hi, everyone! A lot of you know me here, but for those of you who don't, my name is Patty, and I hope to be an author someday. I write poetry for fun, and I thought I would share some of it here with all of you :) This particular poem is called "My Heart Keeps No Secrets". People say that it's all in your head, but I think that the heart has quite a few things to say. Positive feedback, and I'll post some more poetry. For now, enjoy!

My Heart Keeps No Secrets

My heart keeps no secrets

So many that it’s told!

I guess I have too many;

More than my heart can hold.

You may ask, “Are you scared?”

And my lips will tell you “No”,

But my frightened soul is bared

When my heart fails to slow.

Some ask, “Are you angry?”

But my composed face won’t last

Because my strong and enraged heart

Is beating lightning fast.

You could ask, “Do you love me?”

And my mouth will make no sound

But my heart betrays me

With its loud, confirming pound.

My heart keeps no secrets

Forever giving me away

Yet, it always expresses

What I want most to say.
