Alice's POV
I sat at the bar of Finch's diner. A little girl was having her birthday there. I, of course, watched the festivities to keep my mind off a certain somebody.
Until he walked in. I stared a moment and then hopped off the bar stool and sauntered over to the honey-blonde man. He gaped at me a moment, then regained his composure. "You've kept me waiting a long time." He ducked his head, "I'm sorry ma'am" he drawled. I held out my hand for him and he looked me in the eye. He took it within a beat of the birthday girl's heart. And with that, we left Finch's diner.
After a few weeks of him and I traveling, trying to find the Cullen family, we finally found them. I dragged Jasper up the stairs and knocked on the huge door. Esme opened it and looked at us. Two others were there too. "Hello, Esme, Carlisle, Rosalie. I'm Alice and this is Jasper. We're here to join you."
When my two new brothers came back, I'd moved Edward's things into the garage. He, of course, already knew what had happened due to reading everyone's mind, and laughed as if I was already his little sister. And it made me happy to belong somewhere. To feel wanted. To be loved.
