8.5 Months Old

I went into Aerie's room this morning to find her standing in her crib with a sunshiny grin on her face that completely melted my heart. How can it be she's 8.5 months old already? Father time steals moments and whisks them away from us only to leave us with the faint taste of their memories on the tips of our tongues.
Aerie is such a daddy's girl, except when her Mama is around then all bets are off! She's already expressed interest in walking. She's just barely 8.5 months old and already is creeping along the furniture and scooting around the house on her butt.
I find pride and joy in every single milestone she makes yet each one also breaks my heart because it brings her further from babyhood into toddlerhood which just jets straight into teenager then adult. I feel like  Becca's, Rachel's & Jake's childhoods raced right by without warning. Things were different then, I suppose. 
I was working, Sarah was working part time but mostly home with them. Some nights I wouldn't get home until it was almost bedtime. Even with all of that, it all seemed to race by.
Happy 8 and 1/2 months old, little princess. Slow your roll a little, will ya and give your old man a break.
