So this time next week, I will be in the air somewhere heading towards the beautiful country of Australia.  I am heading there for a period of six weeks and will be traveling with my best friend. I'm both thrilled and nervous at the same time. I have visited other countries before but I have never gone for more then a couple of weeks. It's going to be very different going for six weeks.  I feel that I will become homesick after a while as I will miss my country  (the UK) and my family and friends here.

However I know that I will have amazing adventures out in Australia and I'm sure to meet some great people there too. It's definitely a once in a lifetime opportunity and I need to grab it with both hands and embrace it. I think I will be fine when I am there. I guess it's just the anticipation leading up to it.  I worry too much I suppose.  Also I do have a slight fear of flying so going on a very long haul flight is not exactly my idea of fun. It's not so much the being in the air that worries me. It's more the taking off part. I have always hated it and usually panic each time I fly. This time I have got a prescription from the doctors to help me calm as I will be flying by myself.

I hope to get online while in Australia at some point and share photos on here for you all to see. I'm personally hoping to see some Kangaroos!
