"The Miracle - Thursday 9th December"
Carmen: *turns from the window, Abbi secured safely in my arms & wanders back to the bed, gently laying her back down against the pillows, as I finish singing the final words of her favourite lullaby*
Kachiri: *comes in the room with a bowl* Carmen, I think this might work, but I need her to drink it
Tanya: *Wanders in with a fresh change of clothes for Abbi seeing Kachiri* Hi Chi..did you come up with something? *eyes the bowl*
Carmen: *acknowledges Kachiri & carefully takes the bowl, eyeing the contents* Ok Kachiri, I'll just wake her *leans forward and gently strokes Abbi's face* Abbi, Hey baby girl..... wake up sweetie.
Senna: *wanders into the room, seeing chi, carms and tanya all standing by abbi's bedside*
Kachiri: *nods, kneeling near Carmen and Abbi* yes Tanya, a mixture of graviola and mashed up bark of the pepper tree. The graviola is suppose to work wonders according to my books
Carmen: *smiles softly as her eye's flutter open again* Here we go sweetheart, drink some of this for Carmy...ok. *carefully spoons a tiny portion of the mixture into Abbi's mouth, laughing softly as she screws her nose up but keeps drinking*
Senna: *stares with my mouth slightly ajar.. hoping this treatment will work, or at least imporve her condition*
Kachiri: Try to get her to drink some more...as much as she can
Siobhan: *overhears what is going on in the next room as Liam and I help straighten up Kachiri's office* I think this goes here, Love.
Eleazar: *sitting quietly keeping a watchful eye on Carmen and Abbi hoping the remedy will improve her condition*
Senna: *leans against the wall.. carefully observing the child's actions*
Liam: *Nods* Aye, where do ye think she wants this? *Holds up beaker*
Carmen: *smiles up at Kachiri* Well so far so good, but she's certainly not loving the taste *takes the spoon & slowly gives Abbi a few more spoonfuls, all the while her little face screwing up in distaste* Your such a brave girl, sweetheart *smiles*
Siobhan: *points to a spot on the shelf* Right there, I think. What about this...whatever it's called?
Katrina; *sitting with Garret by the window sitting quietly watching and waiting to see how the child is after she takes her medicine*
Liam: *shrugs* I have no idea
Kachiri: *making a face* it doesn't exactly smell good, I wish I knew how to make it taste better for her *stroking her face* She is so brave
*nodding to Zaf as she goes to help Liam and Sio clean the office*
Tanya: *Stands back watching little Abbie hoping for the best*
Senna: *watches as the little girl continues to drink the brew chi has made.. Whisperi
Carmen: *smiles back down at Abbi* Yes, she is *placing my hand on Kachiri's arm* Thank you so much *smiles at Senna & nods* She is.
Kachiri: *smiling at Carmen* You are welcome, I'm glad I could put my researching to good use
Carmen: *scrapes the bottom of the bowl & gives Abbi the final spoonful, smiling proudly to her* It's all gone *leans forward kissing her forehead* Your such a clever girl *leans back & gently lifts her hand as she tries to smile at everyone around the room*
Carmen: You've done an amazing job Kachiri, she hasn't stayed awake this long in days *smiles hopefully*
Senna: *takes the bowl from carmen's hands, and returns to leaning on the wall*
Carmen: *smiles* Thank you Senna
Senna: *smiles to carmen, and nods my head.. returns my attention back towards abbi*
Kachiri: *nods, pulling a thermometer from my pocket* but we best see about that fever *placing the thermometer in her mouth, and waiting patiently*
Tanya: *Walks over and sits next to Carmen on the bed, the glow on her face very apparent*
Eleazar: *walking over to Katie and Garrett seeing that things are progressing concerned for them both* care for a hunt, i hear the panther is popular here.
Katrina: *nodding in unison with Garrett standing up taking garret's hand* we'll meet you outside Ele *walking outside*
Carmen: *watches intently as Kachiri takes Abbi's temperature unconsiously reaching for Tanya's hand as she does*
Eleazar: *nodding to katie and garret walking over to Carmen kissing her lightly on the cheek* love, katie, garret and I are going to go out for a hunt, we'll be back very soon.
Tanya: *Squeezes your hand and whispers* She will be fine Carmen, you have taken very good care of her
Kachiri: *taking the thermometer from Abbi's mouth, reading it* hmm...100.1 definitely much lower then yesterday *looks at Carmen and Tanya* I think she is going to be just fine
Carmen: *smiles softly to Eleazar* Ok darling *my guilt rising at what I have put my family through*
Senna: *smiles towards chi* wow, thats a relief.. carms, sounds like things are going to be fine
Carmen: *smiles to Tanya*
Elezar: *giving Carmen a final nod before walking outside to meet katie and garrett heading off into the woods for a hunt*
Carmen: *smiles to Tanya* Thank you sis, I couldn't have done this without you *looks up at Kachiri* I beg your pardon? It has? really?
Kachiri: *nods* Yes Carmen, it has, but another dose of that syrup wouldn't hurt her *nods to Senna* could you go get some more?
Senna: of course *walks quietly out of the room.. into the kitchen, pouring more of chi's syrup in the bowl.. quickly returns to the room..* here carms.. *hands her the bowl*
Siobhan: *leaves the office behind Liam, having decided to hunt in a village nearby happy that Abbi is getting better.*
Carmen: *squeezes Tanyas hand* Oh my goodness *my first real hope, since this ordeal has begun emerging*
Carmen: *smiles to Kachiri* Thank you so much
Kachiri: you're welcome *stands moving closer to Senna, motion to the door* we are going for a quick hunt Carmen, if you need anymore syrup it's down in the kitchen
Tanya: *Smiles over at the child and back at Carmen* You know you would have made a great mother Carm
Senna: *nods to chi.. hugs carm as we walk to the door*
Carmen: *smiles to Senna *returning her hug*
Carmen: *smiles sadly to Tanya & hugs her tightly* Thank you sis, that means the world to me, I'm so sorry I've put you all through this
Tanya: *Shakes my head* No carm, you have nothing to appologize for....I should appologize *frowns and looks down* I should have never have been so hard on you...Not with knowing from my own experience
Carmen: *leans back frowning, suddenly confused* Your experience sis?
Tanya: *Looks back up to you and takes your hand* I never told you...or any of the family. I was afraid, like you what everyone would think *searches your eyes for a moment* A long time ago...I found a boy, no more than four in the woods just down..by the coast *smiles at the memories* Nashmeha...he was lost. My curiousness got the better of me *pauses waiting for a reaction*
Carmen: *gasps softly* A child... *searches your face, knowing every word you've spoken to be true* Tanya, what happened *reaches for your hand & squeezing gently* Please go on
Tanya: *Smiles softly and continues as the scene plays in my head* I heard the cries..I searched him out. He was there in a clearing kneeled down to the forest floor, face painted in bright red from the tears. *Takes a breath* Of course there’s always..that side, where the venom takes over *frowns sadly* For a moemtn I didnt think I would be able to control it...but I did. Everything snapped into place, I wanted him..I wanted this child for my own *chokes up a little at the words* I knew..after Sasha..that it wasnt possible, but I vowed to watch over him. I returned him to his parents but always came back to keep an eye on MY boy *smile brightening* He had children Carm..and a wife
Carmen: *sqeezes Tanya's hand* You did an incredible thing sister, You watched him, grow, *glances back to Abbi, her eyes now closed & sleeping peacefully, whispers* How do you walk away though sis? *my voice catching as the words leave my mouth*
Tanya: *Rubs your hand softly* It was one of the hardest things I have had to do Carm *smiles sadly* But to be able to watch him grow, have a family of his own...It was all worth it! Things we can never have, he got to. And with that came my happiness...to share that with him. His wedding, the birth of his children...the death of one *grimaces* and eventually his own burial. But to see him live, to watch him grow makes it all worth it *smiles*
Carmen: *smiles softly to you, shaking my head a little* Your amazing sis, after all this time... *laughs quietly* your just as soft as me *sighs* Please don't be worried about what happened before, I'd never hold that against you
Tanya: I shouldnt have judged you Carm, I know you would not have changed her *puts my arm around you* Oh..and please dont tell Katie this *wrinkles my forehead* She would be very angry for me not telling her *giggles slightly*
Carmen: *hugs you warmly* It's ok Tanya, I understand your fears & anguish *leans back to look at you smiling* I won't tell anyone I promise, Thank you so much for sharing this with me, It's easier knowing, that you know how I feel
Tanya: *Smiles and kisses your cheek..pulls back and winks* As I had said, I know how you feel..I am sorry I didnt share it sooner with you
Carmen: *smiles* Well you have now & I'm so glad you did.
Carmen: *hears Abbi stir & turns, quickly beginning to softly sing & stroke her cheek as she sighs quietly & rolls over slightly, finding sleep once again*
Tanya: *Hums the now very familiar lullaby with carmen; smiling at the perfect moment knowing what is to come*

Dear Carmen,
I am so happy to read Abbi is doing better!! I hope she will get stronger soon. But it must be heart breaking for you to leave her, after her recovery. So I am very curious what are you going to do?
I whish you all the strength to decide what is best for Abbi and you!!
You and Abbi are in my thoughts.

Thank you so much for your kindness & lovely words, as you can imagine this hasn't been an easy time, so please forgive me for not responding sooner. Although still at the orphanage, Abbi is doing extremely well and from what I could see had a lovely Christmas. I wish you & your family happiness & peace over this holiday period & coming year.
