Uncertain Times

With the change of seasons fast approaching from summer to the colder season. I like to view the beautiful colors of not only the flowers in the gardens but of the leaves on the trees as well. The colder season has always been more enjoyable for me. With my passion for art, the colorful landscapes are a beauty to behold. I have attempted in the past to capture the beauty with my many paintings and drawings, it just doesn't do it justice. Lately however I have had to put a hold on my passion,…

Alice's Style File: Fashionably Safe.

I am simply having the most fun matching the fabric from my face masks to my ensemble. Whether you are matching the fabrics exactly or just having the hues play off one another, you know I am obsessed with any new accessory I can work with!

See some of my favorite matches: …

Turning.

I look out the window of my suite in Volterra. A group of Volturi, cloaked in capes gliding down below me. Moving through their lives so seamlessly, while I, here feel as though I am stuck.

Turning my glance from the scene outside to my reflection in the window glass. My hand raises to my neck where my Cullen crest sits. It has been there for as long as I can remember and even before that, I had visioned and dreamed of the day that I could belong and feel this very crest…

Ruby Red.

Looking into the mirror, my new reflection gazing back at me with eyes of bright ruby red.

It had spent the majority of my life with golden eyes that were warm and welcoming, always seeing my place with the Cullens and our pact to protect human life from our thirst. I had never questioned this way of life, it felt almost natural for me.

I remember the effort of guiding Jasper through this new way of life and watching his conflict between his biological…

Distractions.

50 across: Perus Capitol.

My unused pen tapped anxiously against the heavy mahogany desk, the white sheets of paper in front of me nearly blank. Taking the cap off the pen felt like cheating in a way, eluding to the next answer before the question had even been presented. In all honestly, the exercise was more for my sanity than enjoyment.

So many thoughts in one place. Voices bounced off the inside of my skull in a myriad that caused a kind of headache; a…

How is she 6 Years Old?

Aerie is 6.

Those words are both terrifying and miraculous at the same time.

Aerie is SIX years old. SIX. She is a true testament of love, devotion and absolute chaos. She goes from zero to 60 in a flash. She is fast, furious, funny and feral. She loves mud,  princesses, pirates, sticks, bugs, dresses, dirt, hair bows, shorts, flowers, motorcycles (damn it, Jake!) and rain.

She is everything you can imagine all balled up into a tiny frame with an angelic face. She is all…

Diary Entry 5-27-2020 Musings on Aerie

My little girl will be turning six years old in just a few short months. How can this be? It was only yesterday I rocked her in the old chair on the porch as the quiet snows fell. The  blink of an eye since her first steps to Billy, a breath since her first word. (Woof meaning wolf for her beloved brother Embry.) She took off like a flash and is now a confident, strong, brave little girl.

She is the mini female version of her Daddy. She has no fear and almost as much sense,…

Italy, Summer 2020

The summer days bleed into nights and pass with such ease and care. I find myself sitting and reminiscing about days gone by. Jane and Alec, Renata, Heidi, Felix and Demetri... we were all quite good friends at one time. Some of my fondest memories are of that time, carefree days and nights, parlor games, hide and seek, tag, cricket and a game that is, today, called, Capture the Flag or Man Hunt. Sometimes our games stretched into week long escapades of endless laughter and fun. To feel that…

Uneasiness in LaPush

I can feel the uneasiness in LaPush since the Cullens went on their trip.  Quil hasn't been around much due to his having to be on patrol a lot more.  Same with everyone else too. As if the quarantine isn't enough stress as it is. It sucks. I had to have my 16th birthday with only my mom and sister and Quil. I mean it was nice and everything and I got to talk to Aunt Emily and Uncle Sam and everyone on the phone but it just wasn't the Sweet 16 birthday I had expected. I know that no one was…

Activity in the Castle, once again...

Aro said it was nice to have activity, once again, here in the castle but I must say, I disagree. The noise is unbearable.
I heard it stated that I was like, "The old man who stands and yells, "Get off my lawn!"

To Volterra.

The choice my family and I make to live our immortal lifestyle the way we do, having compassion for human life, has always and will always put us at risk.

We challenge the very nature of being an immortal and therefore we challenge the power of The Volturi. They look at our family as radicals, as a threat to revolutionize how vampires can coexist in a world predominantly designed for humans.

We know this, we understand the repercussions of our choice in…

In Forks, we are always prepared for a rain storm. This time of year however, so many of our friends and family around the world experience a higher volume of rain than usual.

Perspective.

I sit here, looking out from our back porch noticing the simplest things.

The sound of the breeze passing by, birds chirping, leaves rustling..life is made up of all of these small and simple moments that all add up to the overall big picture that is life.

Sometimes it is easy to get caught up in minor things in our daily lives that hinder us from truly moving forward and enjoying all that our lives have to offer. There is literal beauty surrounding us, even…

Alice's Style File: Basic & Timeless Summer Fashion.

I have been a fan of  basic and timeless pieces for a while.  The current spring/summer collection is beautiful: I love the dusty pink and brown tones! A style that is a cross between Scandinavian simplicity and French chic, resulting in basic elegant and casual fashion. Here are a few of my favorites. …

Fun.

If there is anything that defines me, besides an incredible eye for fashion of course..is fun. Even in the darkest of times, I try to find the fun in everything.

If you are having fun in everything you do, it becomes contagious to everyone around you..especially if there is an empath like Jasper around you!

So, take your day today..what is it like? Is it naturally fun or does the fun seem a little more hidden and harder to reach? If the fun in your day is…

Branching Out.

Looking in the mirror, I notice the smooth contours of my skin. Virtually no signs of aging appearing. Time is moving on and yet, it does not show.

There is something to be said about maturing, growing and learning new things as a mature woman while still looking outwardly as though you have so much to learn and experience. As the people you interact with offer words of wisdom and advice to help you navigate this adult world. Little do they know that I could offer lifetimes…

Lost & Found.

I look around as my family gathers in the living room. The sounds of laughter, the feeling of warmth and a comfort that fills every corner of our home and fills my heart completely.

Though moments like these feel secure and eternal, I still remember my time before Jasper, before the Cullens. A time where I only had myself to rely on. I can remember a time when I felt like it was me against the world and though I had vision that someday Jasper and I would unite and find the…

2020 Vision.

As we bid adieu to 2019 and usher in 2020 we are given a chance to honor our past, live in our present and anticipate our future.

When I look back on 2019, I am grateful for Jasper, my Family and my Friends. We have surrounded one another with love and support.

Living in the present is always a struggle for everyone..we tend to get stuck in our past or focus entirely on hoping for the future. As we are stuck in the past and dreaming of the future, we neglect…
