Billy and His Guitar

I’d have to say the one thing most people may not know about Billy is he is an awesome guitarist. He doesn't bring it out in public often, I get to be the audience most of the time. And…when he sings, I swoon. As silly as that sounds, I do! He has this lovely low rumble in his voice that just makes me weak in the…

Working with Children

Everyone who knows me knows I'm a teacher by trade though I've held many a job lately.  Because the school systems are what they are, my field of study (Social Studies:  History, Government, Economics, etc.) is saturated and as a result, I've had to substitute teach if I want to teach.  I substitute for all sorts of classes and subjects and some of my favorites though I have no talent for it is Science and Math Classes.  I have taught all grades K-12 but usually I prefer the older ones. …

Living with the Vampires

Okay so I don’t really live with them, but they are a very real part of our world. I have to admit when Embry came out to me and told me that all of the legends were real, I had the usual mental reaction to the idea of vampires. I freaked out, thinking of all of the horrible stories I had heard over the years. Then, Embry pointed out to me that Dr. Cullen was one. But he was part of a special type, they called them vegetarian. They did not live on human blood.

That was an…

My Dog Bonnie

Today has been a sad day for all of us, for today on January 22nd, 2014 we had to say good bye to our 9 year old Shetland Sheepdog Bonnie as we had to put her down because she lost her battle with cancer she will be gratefully miss and with that as I say good bye to my family member, my friend I share this quote I found:

Treat me kindly, my beloved master, for no heart in all the world is more grateful for kindness than the loving heart of me.…

Times, they are a changin'

Dylan's song title comes to mind after yesterday's events. My wife (it still makes me smile like a teen to say those words... "my wife") came home feeling under the weather. She fainted at work, said she just wasn't feeling well and that she's fine but I see it on her face.. in her eyes. Something isn't right.

I'm not good with this kind of thing. I don't know how to approach her without seeming like I'm hovering. We're both adults and shes a nurse, surely if something were very wrong…

Running with the Pack

Okay, maybe I don’t run with them, but ever since Embry came out about being wolf, I have been a pack Momma. It was a blessing to finally know what had my sweet boy acting the way he had. But there were unexpected things he was hiding from me that once I knew, became routine.  While the original worries went away, new ones came up.

The first and biggest thing was his appetite! My goodness, I don’t know who was feeding him when I wasn’t, but once I knew, my grocery bill…

A Letter To My Love

Sweet William

You probably have no idea how very blessed I feel to have you in my life. At a time when I felt like things were starting to fall apart, and that I would end up alone, you stepped up and carried me into your life and made it more full than I could ever have dreamed. Your children have become my own, you have taken my son in as yours, and I have grandchildren now to love and spoil as a Grandma should.

You picked a heck of a time to take me as your…

Memories of Volterra

Volterra in the summer, olive trees scent the horizon as tourists voices ring in

the air. I sit in my chamber, looking thru the lead glass pane, contemplating my

very existence. People pass below, winding through the gardens. Some will live

to see another sunrise, some won't even live to see tonight's sunset as Heidi

slithers through the maze, hand picking the first course for dinner tonight.

My presence is always requested for meals and I oblige, though I have…

My new beginning

My life has drastically changed but for the best of course, Demetri has become my entire life I cannot imagine a day without him, never in my life had I imagine love to come to me but now that it has it’s the most wonderful feeling I have ever experienced, sensing it around me it was not even close to what the real feeling is like it takes everything up by storm inside me and feel complete since the day he said he loved me. He completes me in a way that at first it was a bit scary because I…

Haunting Statues

Having had countless hours, months on end, I've found myself wandering the halls of the Volturi Castle a lot more than usual.  When I've completed my duties for the day and night, once I am dismissed, I don't always go straight to my chambers.  Lately, the need to walk the castle…
